Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the rotational accuracies of the table and the hob shaft of a hobbing machine by grasping, while gear-cutting, the rotational nonuniformities of the table and the hob shaft as frequency fluctuations in these rotations. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic scale 7 on which a signal of given wavelength has been recorded is attached around the rotating part of the hob shaft 13, and when it is rotating, the signal on the magnetic scale 7 is reproduced by a magnetic flux detector 8 in noncontact manner. The frequency fluctuation of the reproduced signal (a) is processed in a frequency demodulator circuit 14 to obtain a voltage fluctuation signal (b). Then, the signal of a rotational nonuniformity detector 9 comprising an acceleration detector and an FM telemeter on a table 3 is inputted through transmitting and receiving antennas 10 and 11 to a frequency demodulator circuit 16 to obtain a voltage fluctuation signal (e). These voltage fluctuation signal (b) and (e) are sent to a frequency analyzing unit 15 to detect the cycles and amounts of the rotational nonuniformities of the hob shaft and the table respectively. Thereby, the rotational nonuniformities during actual gear cutting can be measured and grasped.
