Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the constitution of a work feeder for a multispindle automatic lathe and improve the safety of the operation by a method wherein the opening and closing of a work tube, the infeed of work to the spindle and handling of the work are performed through the operation of a single cam member.
CONSTITUTION: When an operating means 11 retreats, a feed means 13 engages with a cam member 10 and retreats to the original position, being restrained by the cam member 10 and a spring 15. At the same time, the member 10 engages with a handling member 19, causing it to retreat from the work taking-in passage against a spring 20. The work is fed to the member 19 from a chute, rolling in parallel to the track. When the upper and lower lide 6a and 6b are united together, the work is fed into the working region every cycle until all the work is gone, through the feed means mounted on the multispindle automatic lathe.
