Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the sealing process for a gas laser tube by a method wherein one mirror is attached, by using a sealing glass, to one of a pair of mirror supports equipped with encapsulating trays installed facing in opposite directions, and the other mirror is sealed being held by sealing plates. CONSTITUTION:Mirror supporting bodies 2 and 2' equipped with encapsulating trays 6 and 6' facing in opposite directions are connected to both ends of a laser tube. The upper encapsulating tray 6' and a mirror 4' are supported by using a sealing glass 3', and the lower encapsulating tray 6 and a mirror 4 are supported by using sealing glasses 7 and 9 respectively. In addition, the laser tube 1 is provided with cathodes 5 and 5' and a narrow tube 8. To seal the mirror 4' with the sealing glass 3', the encapsulating tray 6' is installed upward, the mirror 4' and the sealing glass 3' are placed thereon, and the sealing glass 3' is melted by using heaters 13 in a sealing oven 12. At the same time, the mirror 4 is sealed with the sealing glasses 7 and 9 in a sealing oven 12'.
