Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a composite electrical contact material having superior melt- sticking resistance by internally oxidizing an Ag alloy contg. a specified amount of Cd, Sn and at least one of Fe, Ni and Co.
CONSTITUTION: An Ag alloy contg. 0.5W10wt% Cd, 5.5W11wt% Sn and 0.02W 2wt.% at least one kind among Fe, Ni and Co is formed to fine grains of ≤1mmϕ, and the grains are internally oxidized in an oxygen atmosphere at high temp. and pressure to prepare composite fine grains of silver-cadmium oxide-tin oxide-iron oxide, cobalt oxide or nickel oxide. The grains are then subjected to compression, sintering, extrusion and drawing, and the resulting wire rod is riveted to manufacture an elecrical contact material having superior melt sticking resistance.
