Abstract
PURPOSE:To make constant the ratio of variation of the radius of a circular wiper pattern, by comparing a mixing signal of parabolic horizontal and vertical fundamental waves, with a slice signal which has been obtained by additionally providing a square-law transducer between the fader and the comparator. CONSTITUTION:When a horizontal fundamental wave generator 1 of a parabolic waveform, and a vertical fundamental wave generator 2 are mixed by a mixer 3, its result becomes a square-law curve as shown in the figure (b). On the other hand, when a transducer 5 is inserted between a fader 4 for generating a fader signal by the external control, and a comparator 6, and the fader signal is square- law-converted, the slice potential becomes as shown in the figure (a). A circular wiper signal is generated to the output terminal 7 by comparing a slice signal with an output signal of the mixer 3 by the comparator 6. By doing so, as shown in the figure (c), even when the radius of the circular wiper is large or small, the ratio of variation of its radius is constant, and the fader is operated smoothly.
