Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce measuring errors while enabling measurement of discharge position by detecting changes in the discharge pulses with a calibration wave being injected from several points of a motor winding in a nondestructive test of an insultor. CONSTITUTION:A winding 12 on a rotor of an induction motor is conneted to a transformer 14 and a partial discharge measuring device 16 is connected in parallel to the winding 12 by way of a capacitor 18. The windng 12 has a layer static capacitance C1, an earth static capacitance C2 and an inductance L1 and a calibration wave is injected into the winding 12 at two terminals (a) and (b) of the winding and at an intermediate position (c) thereof. The measuring device 16 detects a discharge pulse simultaneously with the injection thereof. It is possible to find the magnitude and propagation distance of the discharge depending on the peak value of the waveform to be detected and change in the rise time, thereby allowing the measurement of a discharge generating position and a discharge load.
