Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible the setting of a transmission torque and speed reduction within a certain range by arranging a permanent magnet on one end each a driving shaft and a driven shaft in such manner that the polarities may be alternated and arranging an electroconductive nonmagnetic metal plate opposed to the permanent magnet on the other end to obtain an optional transmission torque. CONSTITUTION:A powerful magnetic iron plate 2 is fixed at a right angle with a driving shaft 1 on the side of driving shaft and on the surface of the iron plate, a permanent magnet 3 is installed on the same circumference in such way that its polarity becomes heteropolar. In the meantime, on the driven side, an electroconductive nonmagnetic disc 5 is fixed at a right angle with a transmission shaft 4. The surface of the permanent magnet 3 on the driving side and the surface of the electroconductive nonmagnetic disc 5 on the driven side are arranged in quite close proximity, so that a magnetic line of force emanating from the surface of a permanent magnet is cut off by the electroconductive nonmagnetic disc 5. Consequently, the number of magnetic lines of force inside the disc 5 changes at every moment and an inductive electromotive force is generated inside the disc 5 causing an eddy current to run. As a result, it is possible to obtain an optional transmission torque.
