Abstract
PURPOSE:To always record a high-resolution high-quality image stably and at high speed by a method wherein the rising curve and falling curve of the tempereture of a liquid are selected to be specified values, in a liquid jet recording method utilizing the sharp terminal expansion of a liquid. CONSTITUTION:The liquid in the liquid jetting portion 6 receives heat energy from an electro-thermal converter 2 at a heat acting portion 7, when its volume expands rapidly and it is jetted as liquid droplets from an orifice 5. After jetting of the liquid droplets, with the current supply for a heating resistor layer 11 cut off, the heat in the heat acting portion 7 and a heat generating portion 8 are rapidly discharged to the side of a base plate 3, to rapidly cool the liquid and the generated bubbles. The temperature curve is so maintained that the avarage value of temperature rise is more than 1X10<6> deg.C/sec and that eta0<=eta1/2<4eta0 when 0<eta0<=mus, and 10mus<= eta1/2<=4eta0 when 10mus<eta0, where eta0 is the time necessary for the surface temperature Ti of a heat acting surface 9 to reach a maximum temperature Tp and eta1/2 is the time necessary for the surface temperature to fall from Tp to (Tp-Ti)/2.
