Abstract
PURPOSE: To apply resin coating of good durability without causing discoloration of copper surfaces by coating transparent synthetic resin baking paint on the copper surface the baking the same in an inert gas atmosphere.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a copper or copper-plated plate is sulfide-colored, after which it is applied with scratch patterns to be finished to the appearance of oxidized copper tone. Transparent synthetic resin baking paint C of alkyd, melamine or polyester is coated on the surface of this copper plate A which is then sent onto a heating plate H of which the top surface is bent convex to an arc shape. It is then subjected to baking while supplying an inert gas such as nitrogen or carbonic acid gas between the shielding plate S disposed above the heating plate H and the transparent synthetic resin baking paint C. These enable the oxidation discoloring of the copper surface at the baking to be prevented and enables the copper surfaces to be protected by the transparent resin of high weather resistance without spoiling the oxidized copper tone of the copper surfaces.
