Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a plate engraving roll which is free of irregularities in density due to liquid flow, has sharp die edges for picture-element parts and good transferring property for colored past by a method wherein arbitrary intersections of an intersection-form liquid holder are broken to constitute an alternate-ridged structure.
CONSTITUTION: In the intersection-from liquid holder for holding a printing liquid provided at the picture-element parts at an inclination of about 30W45° against the center line of the roll, the intersections are broken in the alternate-ridged form so that the holder consists of the ceiling with the broken intersections. Accordingly, the colored past can be transferred easily, moire patterns are not generated and knurls can be formed in the condition of being close to the die edges, so that sharp printed articles can be obtained. Further, filling parts for the paste are divided minutely to prevent the liquid from flowing, so that the printed article at a high density free of irregularities in density at intermediate parts and die edge parts can be obtained.
