Abstract

PURPOSE: To accelerate the drying of printed ink, to enhance the quality of recorded images and enable a high-speed recording by a method wherein the exhaust gas from a vacuum device provided at a conveyor for recording paper is directed to and blown to a printing surface of the recording paper.
CONSTITUTION: An air-sucking device 16 sucks in air through holes of a vacuum plate 15 provided with air-sucking holes in the face of a hollow box opposed to the recording paper 7. The paper 7 closely contacted with a conveying belt 12 and printed with the ink is conveyed by a negative pressure generated by the suction of air, and the exhaust gas from the device 16 is passed through an exhaust pipe 17 and is blown to the printed surface 7 of the paper 7 through holes 19 at an air-blowing part 18, thereby accelerating the drying of the ink.
