Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the heat exchange efficiency by piling up a plurality of heat exchange elements to form a heat exchange portion, the heat exchange element comprising C-shaped portions at opposite ends of said element that form an air passage clearance and an array of cylindrical stamped portions, the distance between said stamped portions of the longitudinal colums being different from that of said stamped portions of the lateral rows.
CONSTITUTION: Each flat heat exchange element 1, which is made of a material formable into a contoured shape, has C-shaped portions at its opposite ends and cylindrical stamped portions 3 each having a bottom and having the same height as that of the C-shaped portions. The stamped portions 3 are arranged into an array with the distance between the stamped portions of the longitudinal colums being different from that of the stamped portions of the lateral rows. The heat exchange elements 1 are piled up with their directions turned by 90° with one another, and the primary air flow and the secondary air flow are passed into the alternatively arranged air passages, respectively. Thus while the primary and secondary air flows contact with and pass through the heat exchange elements 1, in their passages are, formed only the linearly arranged stamped portions, so that the passage resistance is low and the flow rate is increased to improve the thermal exchange efficiency.
