Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect the property of smoke by providing the smoke generator with a test specimen container provided with an air suction port and a smoke discharge port and a test specimen heating means and providing the measuring unit with a container provided with a smoke suction port and an exhaust port connected to an exhaust means and the like. CONSTITUTION:The inspection apparatus comprises a smoke generator 1, a measuring unit 2 for the optical smoking amount and the smoking amount and an exhaust means such as an exhaust pump 3. A test specimen 4 such as an insulating material or a building material is placed in a container 5 of heat resistance, around which cylindrical fire bricks 10 on whose inner walls heating resistance wires 9 are disposed are arranged, and the test specimen 4 is heated by energizing the resistance wires 9. The measuring unit 2 comprises a cylindrical container 14 provided with a smoke suction port 12 to be connected with a piping 11 and a smoke discharge port 13 and contains a piezoelectric balance weighing instrument 16. By such a constitution, the optical smoking amount and the smoking amount are measured at the same time, and the property of smoke can be made known from the relationship therebetween.
