CONSTITUTION:The inspection apparatus comprises a smoke generator 1, a measuring unit 2 for the optical smoking amount and the smoking amount and an exhaust means such as an exhaust pump 3. A test specimen 4 such as an insulating material or a building material is placed in a container 5 of heat resistance, around which cylindrical fire bricks 10 on whose inner walls heating resistance wires 9 are disposed are arranged, and the test specimen 4 is heated by energizing the resistance wires 9.
