Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily separate borofluorides from waste water at a high efficiency, by adding a basic dyestuff to borofluoride-containing waste water to form a complex compound, and contacting the waste water with active carbon to adsorb the complex compound.
CONSTITUTION: In the disposal of borofluoride-containing waste water discharged from a metal finishing factory or the like for removal of fluorine, a basic dyestuff such as methylene blue or methyl violet is added to the waste water to form a complex compound with the borofluorides. The waste water is then contacted with active carbon to adsorb the formed complex compound. Consequently, the borofluorides are easily and assuredly separated from the waste water, without necessity of heating or compressing.
