Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it easy to service and replace articles of consumption which reach the limit of use by fitting a photoreceptor and a device, arranged closely to the photoreceptor, to a support member in one body to obtain a unit, and by making this unit attachable to and detachable from the main device body. CONSTITUTION:In storage room T1 provided nearly in the center of copying device body T, interchangeable unit P equipped with a magnetic brush type developing device inserted so that it will be slidable and detachable freely is provided. This interchangeable unit P is surrounded by side plates 31 to form an enclosure of size which can be inserted into storage room T1. At its center part, rotatable photoreceptor drum 1 is provided and at left and right sides of it, developing device A and cleaning device C are provided in a body closely to photoreceptor drum 1. Unit P is provided with metal fittings 32 and 33 at both lower ends and engages slidably with slides 35 and 36 provided at both ends of storage room T1. Therefore, replacing the unit facilitates the replacement, etc., of articles of consumption as well as maintenance services.
