Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve mechanical strength of a fluorescent lamp device, by inserting a linear tube fluorescent lamp in an envelope tube and mounting holding plates, for holding both ends of the fluorescent lamp, directly or indirectly to both end parts of the envelope tube. CONSTITUTION:An envelope tube 1 is made from a light-permeable or semipermeable material and formed into cylindrical shape with openings at its both ends. In this envelope tube 1 a fluorescent lamp 20 is inserted, both ends of which are supported by holding plates 24, 25. The periphery of one holding plate 24 is engaged to an inner face of the envelope tube 1, and a leg part of the holding plate 24 is adapted to a rib 10 of a connecting tube 4 to make positioning. The othter holding plate 25 is supported by a cap 15. In this way, the fluorescent lamp 20 can be positioned onto the center axis of the envelope tube 1. In the cap 15 a starter lamp 31 is housed, while in a base structural body 2 a stabilizer 35 is contained.
