Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a discharge lamp which can be used for incandescent lamp apparatus and of which luminous flux distribution is nearly uniform by bending a linear tube type valve in U-figure form at the center part and further bending the both end parts into U-figure form along the direction crossing at right angles with the plane involving said U-figure form part.
CONSTITUTION: A linear tube type glass or transparent resin is bent in U-figure form at the center part, and the both end parts which are division-formed at the curved part are bent further in the direction crossing at right angles with the plane involving said U-figure form part, and formed into nearly saddle form as a whole. On both ends of the valve 4, discharge electrodes are installed, and on the inner surface of the valve 4, fluorescent substance membrane is formed, and mercury and inert gas in a prescribed amount are filled in the valve 4. The both ends of the luminous tube 3 are fixed with a base 1 integrally, and on the base 1, a stabilizer 6 is installed so as to be enclosed by the luminous tube. Thus, a low-pressure discharge lamp having nearly uniform in distribution of light flux in the peripheral direction can be obtained.
