PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of an optical detector and at the same time realize an increase of the accuracy of attachment, an easy positioning and a reduction of the position shift after attached respectively, by using a semiconductor photodetector in which a photodetector and light masking plate are unified into one body for an optical detector. CONSTITUTION:The photodiodes 7a and 7b are formed in a body on a monolithic substrate, and a light masking material 7e is coated around the light receiving parts 7c and 7d. Thus a semiconductor photodetector 7 is obtained. Then a light emitting element 1 and a photodetector 7 are provided opposite to each other at the both sides of a rotary disk 3 that is stuck to the rotary shaft 5 of the motor 6 to be used as an object to be detected.
