Abstract
PURPOSE:To restrict minute vibration occurence to improve the comfort of passengers by providing within a free piston of the oil pressure shock absorber of Du Carbon's auxiliary working chamber in which gas and liquid are sealed and a bellows is housed and which is communicated with a lower working chamber through an orifice. CONSTITUTION:When the shock absorber is expanded or compressed following an uneven configuration of a road, if the free piston 8 is in a stop position because a valve mechanism does not operate due to the insufficientness of oil pressure within the lower working chamber S2, a working oil within the lower working chamber S2 is made to flow by the reduction of volume of the lower chamber S2 caused by the piston 6 descending through an orifice 7 into an upper working chamber S1 only by an amount corresponding to an increase of volume of the chamber S1. The rest amount of working oil flows into the auxiliary working chamber S4 through the orifice 12 to compress and deform the gas 16 within a defining chamber S5. By a reaction of this, an upward force is applied on the lower surface of the piston 6 to generate an shock absorbing force. Thus, any minute vibrations can be absorbed and therefore the passengers' comfort can be much improved.
