Abstract

PURPOSE:To control slight vibrations and thereby make the vehicle more comfortable to ride in by a method wherein the working chamber of a cylinde of the captioned device of dual-cylinder type is connected, through the intermediary of an orifice, to a subordinate working chamber in which an elastic metallic film chamber is incorporated with a gas or the like enclosed therein. CONSTITUTION:When the oil pressure of the lower working chamber S2 does not actuate a valve 9 since the stroke of a piston rod 7 is small, a part of workig oil in the lower working chamber S2 accompanying the stroke moves the chamber and the upper working chamber S1 through the intermediary of the orifice 9a of a valve mechanism 9, while the rest thereof moves the chamber S2 and the subordinate working chamber S4 through the intermediary of the communication pipe 14 of the rod 7 and the orifice 13. Accordingly, with the increase and decrease of gas pressure in a section S5, a reactive force is caused by the change in the form of an elastic film 17. The composite pressure generated by these fluctuation of pressure in the chamber S5, reactive force and loss of pressure caused by movement through the orifices acts on the rod 7 as a damping force. By this constitution, the slight vibrations can be asborbed and thereby the vehicle can be made more comfortable to ride on.
