Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and improve the operating stability for a tracking device of a magnetic head, by correcting both the angle and phase differences between the track and the head scanning locus with the rotating speed signal of the capstan, the control reproduction signal and the head rotation phase signal. CONSTITUTION:The upper drum 2 incorporates the video heads 4A and 4B with a space of 180 deg. that are attached to the lower surface of the drum 2 via the bimorph plates 5A and 5B. Then the oblique voltage is formed to give a correction to the angle difference between the recording track and the head scanning locus based on the rotating speed detection signal of the capstan 7 which drives the magnetic tape 1. At the same time, the phase difference correcting voltage is formed to give a correction to the phase difference between the track and the head scanning locus based on the reproduced signal of the control signal of the tape 1 and the head rotation phase signal. In such way, a tracking device of a magnetic head can be obtained with a high operating stability and in a comparatively simple constitution.
