Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a tape speed detecting circuit having a high operating stability with a simple structure, by changing the period of the pulse signal obtained with a frequency proportional to the rotating speed of a capstan into the voltage to obtain a tape speed detecting voltage. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic tape 1 is wond round the outer circumferences of the upper and lower drums 2 and 3 in an angle range of about 180 deg.. The upper drum 2 is driven by the drum motor 6. The tape 1 is forwarded by the capstan 7, and the capstan 7 is turned in a prescribed speed by the capstan motor 8. The rotating speed of the motor 8 is detected by the frequency generator 9; and the phase of rotation of the motor 6 is detected by the pulse generator (PG) head 12. Then the change-over pulse RF-SW is produced through the head change-over signal producing circuit 13 for the A and B heads 4A and 4B. The tape speed detecting voltage is obtained through such constitution as mentioned above. As a result, a tape speed detecting circuit can be obtained with a high operating stability and a comparatively simple constitution.
