Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the consumption of an electric power amount used by a blower rationally, in sucking and removing a waste gas generated during a preparatory work for making and refining a steel and a refining process, by controlling a revolution number of a sucking blower in accordance with a generating amount of said waste gas. CONSTITUTION:A molten slag mixed molten iron tapped out from a shaft furnace is taken in a molten iron ladle or in a metal mixer cart and, thereafter, entered into a direct pouring ladle to be subjected to the slag scraping and a preparatory work is finished. Subsequently, the molte iron is entered into a converter to be subjected to the oxygen blow refining and, after tapping out, a slag is discharged to complete the refining process. The waste gas generated in said both working processes is sucked to enhance a working enviroment. An opening degree of a damper provided in a waste gas sucking duct is set corresponding to a waste gas generating amount in the above described both processes and an electric signal corresponding thereto is transmitted. By controlling a rotary number of the sucking blower by combining a set opening degree of the damper during the refining process and the opening and the closing of the damper during the preparatory work, an electric power consumed by the blower is reduced reasonably.
