Abstract
PURPOSE:To pick up heat energy from geothermal source such as hot water, high temperature rock board, volcanic magma, etc. to an electric generation or other heat utilization system via a heat pipe for conducting the heat without necessity of power. CONSTITUTION:A hole 3 reaching the vicinity of a geothermal source 2 such as shallow or deep hot-water well, high temperature rocks or the like is excavated under the ground 1, and a cylinder 4 is inserted into the hole 3. Wick material made of glass fiber, mesh-shaped fine copper wires or the like is extended inside the metallic pipe having high corrosion resistance within the cylinder 4, and a number of heat pipes 5 in which heat medium such as Freon, ammonia or the like is filled and air is evacuated are connected and inserted thereinto. The heat pipes 5 are so connected by clamping the adjacent pipes 5 with cap nuts 8, the space between the heat pipes 5 and the cylinder 4 is partitioned with shielding plate 9 made of heat insulator provided at a suitable interval in an axial direction to form a plurality of heat exchanging chambers 10.
