Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively remove finest particles in exhaust gas by arranging inside an exhaust gas pressure gradually reducing case, smoke removing gauze cylinders of which each contains a discharge wire at the center and providing a high tension equipment which applies a high voltage to the cylinders.
CONSTITUTION: Smoke removing cylinders 3 of which each is made up by gauze and contains a discharge wire 3e at the center are arranged inside an exhaust gas pressure gradually reducing case 2 and a high tension generator 8 is provided, applying a high voltage to the smoke removing cylinders 3 to cause a corona discharge. After an exhaust gas is blasted at a certain pressure and velocity from an exhaust port communication pipe 1 into a case 2, the pressure and the velocity are gradually reduced in a space S1. After particles in the smoky exhaust gas are adsorbed by removing cylinders 3, the gas passes through a hole 4a in a partition wall 4 into a space S2, wherein the pressure and the velocity become lower. While the exhaust gas passes through the sequentially arranged removing cylinders 3, particles in the smoky exhaust gas are adsorbed by them and resulting clearer exhaust gas is discharged.
