Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the lowereing of the activity of catalyst by effectively removing the mist, etc., of low-melting compounds present in exhaust gas by a method in which prior to the removal of NOx in exhaust gas by catalytical reduction method, the exhaust gas is passed through a given pretreatment apparatus.
CONSTITUTION: After exhaust gas is introduced from a line 1 into a pretreatment apparatus 2 and the mist and dust of low-melting compounds are removed by an arrestor 3, the gas is further introduced into a cyclone 5 to further remove dust preset, mixed with NH3 charged from a line 7, and then introduced into a catalyzed reactor 8 where it is reacted with NH3 to remove NOx and released through a line 9 to the open air. The arrestor 3 for mist and dust in the pretreatment apparatus 2 used has a structure in which a latticed A or metal netting B units are stacked up in several stages orderly and by biasing them little by little.
