Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform effective centrifugal casting by splitting a mold to plural pieces, and electrically insulating the parting planes thereby decreasing the shielding effect of magnetic field by the mold and applying the magnetic field necessary for rotation to molten metal. CONSTITUTION:In an electromagnetic induction device 1 which applies rotating magnetic fields to the unsolidified molten metal 3 in a mold 2 and rotates the molten metal 3 by the electromagnetic effect thereof, the mold 2 is split to plural pieces. This mold 2 is assembled by bolting 10 the parted plural molding pieces 7, and the parting planes thereof are electrically insulated by placing heat-resistant insulators between these. Thereby, the shielding effect for magnetic fields by the mold 2 is decreased and the sufficient rotating magnetic field necessary for rotation is acted upon the molten metal 3.
