Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to operate the variable speed motor at the most suitable efficiency and power factor consuming a little power by a method wherein plural lead out taps are provided in the stator winding of the induction motor to be used being assembled with an electromangetic coupling and connection of the winding is changed in accordance with load. CONSTITUTION:At the induction motor to be connected to load through the electromagnetic coupling, the plural lead out taps T1-T3 are provided at the middle parts of respective phase windings of the stator winding. Because output P of the induction motor is generally proportional to the third power of number of revolution, connection of the stator winding is changed in accordance with the number of revolution of load using the lead of taps T1-T3. For example, when the lead out taps T1 and TY, T2 and Tz, T3 and TX are connected to form the side line extended delta, output P is reduced to 51% as compared with normal delta connection, and when it is formed in star connection, output can be reduced to 34%. Therefore the most suitable torque characteristic can be obtained in accordance with the condition of load.
