Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the display device with excellent contrast and visuality, quick response and long life without yellow color, by using the azoxy system liquid crystal material including the fluorescent dye which absorbs ultraviolet rays and has the maximum value at the short wave side of visual light region. CONSTITUTION:In the dynamic scattering type liquid crystal display device using the azoxy chemical compound having negative anisotropic dielectric constant, the liquid crystal material 5 made of azoxy compound indicated with equation added with 0.01wt% conductivity giving agent such as N(C4H9)4Br and 1wt% fluorescent dye such as 1,6-diphenyl-1,3,5-hexatrien having the maximum of light emission at 365nm for ultraviolet ray absorption nature, is used. Said liquid crystal material 5 is sealed with the sealing member 6 between the electrode substrate 2 providing the transparent electrode 1 and the substrate 4 providing the reflection film 3. The fluorescent dye prevents yellow color of azoxy compound and the decomposition by ultraviolet ray is avoided, and the display device with long life and good visuality can be obtained.
