Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (HO-A- is hydroxypyridyl group wherein pyridine ring is substituted or unsubstituted; R1 is OH; R2 and R3 are H, dialkylamino, OH, etc.; X and H are carbamoyl, carboxy, H, etc.) or its salt.
EXAMPLE: 7-[ D-α-( 4-hydroxy-6-methylpyridine-3-carboxyamide )-α-( 4-hydroxyphenyl)acetamide]-3-(1-pyridinium)methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylate.
USE: An antibacterial agent. Having powerful antibacterial action against Gram- positive and Gram-negative bacteria, characteristically having antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, indole positive Proteus, Serratia, etc.
PROCESS: A compound shwon by the formula HO-A-COOH or its reactive derivative is reacted with a compound shown by the formula II or its salt or its derivative, to give a compound shown by the formula I or its salt.
