Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a bulk of ibuprofen of antipyretic, anodyne, and anti-inflammatory agent low, and to improve flow properties and disintegration properties, by melting crude powder of ibuprofen under heating, cooling it so that it is solidified, followed by grinding.
CONSTITUTION: Ibuprofen [chemical name: 2-(4'-isobutylphenyl)propionic acid] alone or its mixture with at least one of an excipient and a disingrator is melted under heating, it is cooled, solidified, and ground to give ibuprofen-containing granule having an apparent specific volume 9.3W11.5ml/5g, angle of repose 40W 47°, ibuprofen content not less than 78wt%. The pharmaceutical preparation of ibuprofen is miniaturized by the use of this granule and is drinkable readily.
