Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce materials and to reduce weight by composing a photoreceptor of a thin metallic cylindrical body and by providing it with rigidity so that the body will not deform even against the turning contact of a peripheral device. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor is made of a thin metallic cylindrical body (of about 1-2mm. in thickness) to provide enough rigidity to prevent deformation against the turning contact of a peripheral device. To fit photoreceptor 4, flat part 26a of flange 26 is aligned to one end of it and the other end is temporarily held opposing to flange 32, thereby eliminating energizing force operating on knob 28. As a result, the elastic force of spring 31 operates to bring flange 32 into contact with photoreceptor 4. Therefore, photoreceptor 4 is tightly held at flange 26 because a frictional force operates between itself and flange 32 with the force of spring 31. To replace photoreceptor 4, drawing knob 28 against spring 31 separates photoreceptor 4 from flanges 26 and 31, and then only the cylindrical body can be detached.
