Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain an approximately constant air fuel ratio regardless of variation in fuel constitutents by providig a flow control valve which is actuated on detected pressures in an LPG fuel tank, in either an LPG fuel supply passage or an air supply passage or the both.
CONSTITUTION: In running of an engine, when a pressure in an LPG fuel tank 1 increases with an increase in an amount of liquefied petroleum gas mixed in an LPG fuel, a high pressure liquefied petroleum gas fuel supplied from the tank 1 into a vaporizer 13 through a fuel passage 14 passes through pressure feed passage 15 into a chamber 12 at the back of a diaphragm inside a flow control valve 2. A high pressure applied on the diaphragm 8 pushes a rod 7 to move down a valve body 6 against a spring 11, thereby increasing an opening area of a valve seat 5. As a result, a greater amount of fuel may be supplied into a suction passage. Oppositely, when an amount of liquefied petroleum gas decreases, the valve body 6 moves to reduce an opening area of the valve seat 5.
