Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize an extra-soft ground, e.g., high-moisture highlyorganic soil, in a short time by adding and mixing a stabilizing agent composed of ordinary Portland cement, CaSO4, and Na2SO4 in an objective soil.
CONSTITUTION: An additive obtained by mixing CaSO4 and Na2SO4 in a proportion of 1:1 is added in an amount of 5W10wt% to ordinary Portland cement and then mixed to obtain a stabilizing agent. Then, the stabilizing agent is mixed in an extra-soft ground of high moisture content and high organic soil content for stabilization.
EFFECT: When a humus soil of high moisture content is to be improved by cement alone, 700W800kg/cm2 of cement is required for obtaining an improved strength of qu=2.0kg/cm2 or so. But, when the stabilizing agent is used, the same effect as that with cement alone can be obtained only by using approx. 150W200kg/ m3 of the agent.
