Abstract
PURPOSE: To effectively utilize combustion calorie of combustibles in molding sand and surely prevent their sticking on the inside wall surfaces of a furnace by allowing the molding sand, which is supplied at a constant rate into a rotary furnace, to burn of itself and suppressing the combustion temp. thereof by the exhausting of the center part in the furnace.
CONSTITUTION: While the molding sand (a) to be regenerated is being supplied 3 continuously at a constant rate from one end of a rotary furnace 1 to the other end side, it is heated up to 750W 800°C by a burner 5 from the other end of the furnace 1. A suitable amount of air contg. O2 is introduced 10 during said procedure, and when the sand (a) begins to burn at above 650°C, the temperatures of the sand (a) and the furnace inside rise. Following this procedure, the max. temp. shifts gradually to the molding sand supply port 2 side, and the temp. is elevated from the molding sand take-out port 4 up to the center part. Thence, the combustion of the burner 5 is gradually throttled until it is stopped finally, so that the combustibles contained in the sand (a) are allowed to burn of themselves. Since the temp. in the furnace is elevated further by this self-combustion, the damper 16 of a combustion gas exhaust part 12 for controlling heating temp. is opened to exhaust the high-temp. combustion gas from the approximate center part of the furnace 1 directly to the outside to keep the temp. in the furnace ≤800°C.
