PURPOSE:To perfectly lock the movement of a piston even if a force is applied to the piston in its locked state by perfectly shutting-off a pressure applying means and isolating the upper and lower chambers of the piston by means of a lock valve and a check valve. CONSTITUTION:When a lock valve 36 is moved in D direction and a passage 35 is opened, a piston 25 is moved in C direction and a check valve 42 operates, followed by opening of a passage 41 and oil flows into the lower chamber 31 from an auxiliary chamber 32, and into the auxiliary chamber 32 from a passage 29, and into the passage 29 from the upper chamber 30 respectively. Accordingly, a free piston 28 moves in C direction, and a gas chamber 33 is expanded. When the operation of the lock valve 36 is stopped, the lock valve is shifted in the direction of arrow C by the oil pressure in the upper chamber 30, and the passage 35 is closed.
