Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the titled coating compsn. which has excellent workability during coating, good adhesiveness, weather resistance, etc. and can form a coating film having clear tint, consisting of an emulsion obtd. by the multistage emulsion polymn. of a vinyl monomer and an aggregate.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl monomer [e.g. (meth)arylic acid or (meth)acrylic ester] is polymerized by a multistage emulsion polymn. technique. In the first stage (or a subsequent intermediate stage) a polymer having a glass transition temp. of not higher than -20°C is formed in an amount of 50W97pts.wt. In the final stage (or a preceding intermediate stage) a polymer having a glass transition temp. of not lower than +20°C is formed in an amount of 50W3pts.wt. to produce a multistage polymer emulsion, capable of cold film-forming, contg. particles having an average particle diameter of 0.02W0.1μ. Then 100W500pts.wt. said emulsion (calculated as 40wt% concentration) is blended with 1,000pts.wt. aggregate (pref. plastic beads or natural stone exhibiting relatively low water absorption).
