Abstract

PURPOSE: To safely bond a soft urethane foam to a sheet material without using fire, by contact bonding of the urethane foam to the sheet material through a foam or paste of a hydrophilic polyurethane prepolymer having an isocyanate gp. at the terminal.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrophilic urethane prepolymer having an isocyanate gp. at the terminal is prepared, by reacting a polyether-type polyol having at least two hydroxy groups in the molecule with a polyisocyanate cpd., in a ratio of NCO/OH>2. A urethane prepolymer composition contg. 20% or more said prepolymer is prepared. In bonding a soft urethane foam to a sheet material, an integrally bonded product is obtained by the application of said composition to any one of the urethane foam and the sheet material and contact bonding of the urethane foam to the sheet material through a foam or a paste prepared by the addition of water to the hydrophilic urethane prepolymer, followed by drying.
