Abstract
PURPOSE: To enhance the effect of liquid purification with simple construction by providing a porous liquid permeable dielectric on the electrode surface of the reverse polarity side provided in a liquid passage.
CONSTITUTION: Porous liquid permeable dielectric 11, 11' are provided on the re- verse polarity sides of electrodes 12, 13'. Here, when dust-laden liquid flows in from the arrow direction, the dust and liquid are attracted with the electrodes 12, 12', but the dust is captured on or in the dielectrics 11, 11'. Since the liquid is apt to enter the inside, it loses electrical charge by contacting the electrodes 12, 12', but the insoluble mixed liquid particles are captured on the dielectrics 11, 11' by suitably selecting the material for the dielectrics 11, 11'. By use of this method, the electric field strength between the electrodes 12 and 12' is increased, and even if the liquid vigorously moves between the electrodes 12 and 12', the dust stuck and captured by the dielectrics 11, 11' are increasinly for dibly packed into the inside and their rescattering is made difficult. This makes possible the impression of the strong electric field and enables the device of extremely high dust collecting efficiency to be obtained.
