Abstract
PURPOSE:To correctly maintain a microgap with simple processing by a process wherein the surface of a stator facing a traveler is made plane, both ends lengthwise are made the guide parts and between the guide parts the orthogonal grooves are cut lengthwise to form scale teeth. CONSTITUTION:In a stator 11 consisting of ferromagnetic material the surface facing the slider teeth of a traveler 16 wound round with the exciting windings 30-33 is formed plane. And both ends lengthwise of said plane are made to be the guide parts 14 and 15 of said traveler 16, while between said guide parts 14 and 15 the groves 13 are processed to form the scale teeth 12 lengthwise at a right angle. The processing of the grooves 13 is preferably done by etching or electrical discharge machining. Thereby as the guide parts 14 and 15 as well as the upper surface of the scale teeth 12 are on the same plane, the microgap between the slider teeth of the traveler 16 and the scale teeth of the stator can be correctly maintained.
