Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect an accurate speed signal with less ripples even when the number of incremental position signals is small, by generating a signal in inverse proportion to a motor speed on the basis of an incremental position detection signal. CONSTITUTION:With an incremental position signal from incremental position detector 2 on every completion of the constant-angle rotation of motor 1, the count value of clocks from clock generator 12 of counter 3 is set in registor 6 and counter 3 is cleared via delay circuit 4. Consequently, the valve that varies in inverse proportion to the speed of motor 1 while in proportion to the period of the incremental position signal is set in register 6. According to this set value, down counter 7 generates a backward digit shift signal of a period of inverse proportion to the speed of the motor to trigger monostable multivibrator 9. Therefore, speed pulses of a frequency much higher than the cutoff frequency of LPF10 from multivibrator 9 are smoothed and even when the number of incremental position signals is small, an accurate speed signal with a few ripples can be detected.
