CONSTITUTION: At the moment that the thickness changing point of the rolled strip 1 ariives at the concerned rolling stand, the thickness change command is given successively to the screw position controllers 61W66. At the same time, depending on the actually measured value of thickness change in each stand, the finishing stand's computer-controller 7 computes the variation of forward slip and the variation of backward slip, and gives a command for relatively correcting the rolling speed of the stand to each of driving motors 31W36 of each stand; hereby, the variation of the mass flow is corrected. Moreover, the correction for the absolute value of rolling speed of whole rolling mill is added to the output of the main speed setter 5; depending on thus obtained summation, the command for changing the rolling speed of the pivot stand and other stand is given to each of driving motors 31W36 of each stand; hereby, the variation of rolling temperature caused by changing the thickness is corrected.
