Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible centering of an optical fiber to a plug easily, rapidly and accurately by aligning the center of the fiber to the hole provided at the center of the plug and fixing the same thereinto by using ramdom holes. CONSTITUTION:Hole jewels 2 are successively passed onto an optical fiber 1 as shown by an arrow and when a fixed number of these have been passed, the hole jewels 2 are adhered and fixed to themselves by means of an adhesive agent. Upon setting of the adhesive agent, the fiber 1 is removed. Here the ringlike bodies made in consequence of the adhering of the multiple hole jewels become random holes. Next, the fiber 1 is inserted into the hole of a plug 7 and the end of the fiber 1 is inserted into the composite inside diameter 4 of the random holes 3. Next, the plug 7 is fitted in a receptacle 6. In this state, the fiber 1 is centered to the plug 7. The fiber 1 is then fixed to the plug by an adhesive material 8. After the adhesive agent 8 has set, the plug 7 is removed from the receptacle 6, thence the unnecessary portion of the fiber 1 at the plug front face is cut and end face treatment is done. In this way, the fiber is centered and fixed to the plug of the connector.
