Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable butted fiber strands to be surely aligned to themselves by so arranging the connector that the plugs having beforehand been aligned to optical fibers are butted at the bottom face of the insertion hole of a collet so that the plugs are prevented from being rotated in the collet. CONSTITUTION:First, the covering of optical fibers F is removed to lead out their strands and adhesive agents are coated on their outside circumferential surfaces, after which they are inserted and aligned in the insertion hole 2 of plugs 1 and are fixed. Such plugs 1 are inserted from both ends of a collet 10 and are butted, thence the key grooves 3 of the plugs 1 are fitted to the keys 16 fitted in the key grooves 12 of the collet 10 to prevent their rotation.
