Abstract
PURPOSE:To save the power consumption of the electronic machinery such as a data collector and the like, by protecting the storage contents of the ROM by a protective battery when the power source is off and checking whether the storage contents of the ROM are correct or not when the power source is on, respectively. CONSTITUTION:When the power source 7 is turned on, the control part 2 transfers the control program of the ROM3 to the RAM5. Thus the data sent from the input part 1 are stored successively in the RAM5 via the part 2 to be collected. Under these conditions, the power source 7 is turned off for waiting. Thus the contents of RAM5 are protected by the protective battery 9. After this, the power source 7 is turned on to check for coincidence of the contents between the ROM3 and RAM5 by part 2. When coincidence is obtained, the data collection is carried out. The faulty contents are decided for the RAM5 when no coincidence is obtained. Thus the announcement part 6 is actuated. In such way, the power source can be turned off at the time of waiting to save the power consumption.
