Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve purification capacity and durability by making combination use of an adsorbent particle layer and an ozone decomposing catalyst layer for purification of air contg. ozone near the corona discharger of an electrophotographic copier, etc., and providing exchanging means for deactivated adsorbent particles and active adsorbent particles. CONSTITUTION:In a copying apparatus 9 having a cleaning part 2, a charging part 3 consisting of a cleaning part 2 and a corona discharger, an image exposure part 4, a developing part 5, a transfer part 6, etc. around a photosensitive drum 1, the internal air is passed through an air processing device 10 while the scattering toner, etc. are being sucked through the suction hole provided near the developing part 5. The device 10 first gets rid of suspending fine particles (toner etc.) with a filter 102, and decomposes ozone to O2 with a catalyst layer 103 (consisting of depositing MnO2, Pt, etc. on a porous substrate or the like) then adsorbs undecomposed ozone in an adsorbent layer 104 of active carbon etc., like, for example, an air processing device 101. The adsorbent particles 104P are gradually sent to the layer 104 from a vessel 105 by means of a revolving screw 106a, and the deactivated adsorbent particles 104P are discharged into a vessel 107 by means of the screw 106b. It is equally well to attach a regenerating device so as to recycle the recovered adsorbents.
