Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve both the pressure resistance strength and the airtightness, by fitting a taper pin to which an optical fiber strand has been made to adhere so as to be buried, into the inside surface having the same taper angle as that of the sleeve, and making it adhere. CONSTITUTION:The coating of the optical fiber lead-in part of the optical fiber core 2 is removed, and the uncovered optical fiber strand 6 is made to adhere to the groove formed on the taper surface of the taper pin by use of an adhesive agent 9. Subsequently, the adhesive agent 9 is applied on the taper surface of the taper pin 7 into which the optical fiber strand 6 has been buried, and said taper pin 7 is inserted, fitted and made to adhere into the lead-in hole having the same taper angle as that of the taper pin 7 of the sleeve 8 which is seamed to the repeater housing end plate 3 by the cone seal so as to be pressure resisting and airtight. In this regard, the groove into which the optical fiber strand 6 is buried can be formed on the inside surface of the sleeve 8, too.
