Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an impact-resistant resin composition having excellent luster and excellent heat molding stability, by mixing a thermoplastic resin with a graft polymer whose skeletal polymer is a rubbery polymer polymerized by a specified method.
CONSTITUTION: A graft polymer latex is formed by emulsion polymerization of a rubbery polymer (e.g., a diene rubber, an acrylic rubber, etc.,) with an ethyleneic monomer (e.g., styrene, acrylonitrile, etc.), and then an acid or a water-soluble inorganic salt (e.g., sulfuric acid, magnesium sulfate, etc.) is added to the graft polymer latex to partially coagulate the latex, and the partially coagulated latex is subjected to suspension polymerization after adding an ethylenic monomer and a suspansion stabilizer to the latex in order to form a graft polymer containing 35W 70wt% rubber. Then, the graft polymer thus obtained and a thermoplastic resin (pref., acrylonitrilestyrene copolymer) are mixed together by a Henschel mixer, an extruder, etc., to obtain a resin composition.
