Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform stopping operation of an engine with an emergency cord even when the operator falls down into the water, by integrally forming an emergency built-in safety switch into an engine stopping push button switch.
CONSTITUTION: In a cylindrical stepped switch case 11, an actuating lever 13 having a stepped part 13a is slidably provided. At an end of said actuating lever 13 a movable contact plate 15 is supported by a spring 17 and supporting body 16. A face of the supporting body 16 at a face-to-face position to the movable contact plate is provided with switches 18a, 18b, and the actuating lever 13, if pushed leftward, short circuits the switches 18a, 18b to stop an engine. While a conductive material 20 at a face-to-face position to a rear face of the movable contact plate is also provided with contacts 19a, 19b, and the actuating lever, even when moved rightward, stops the engine with the contacts 19a, 19b. Though the actuating lever 13 is normally held by a knob 22 in a position as shown in the drawing, the spring 17, if the knob is removed by a rope 26, makes a conduction of the contacts 19a, 19b.
