Abstract

PURPOSE: To unforcedly obtain creep travel with a compact device by using an existing hydraulic clutch type speed changer and slip-operating one hydraulic clutch in this speed changer.
CONSTITUTION: Cars travel normally at a speed which is determined by the gear ratio of the respective speed change gear rows 14, 15; 16, 17; 18W20 by controlling a pressure regulating valve 46 and optionally switching a change-over valve 40 into the advance first speed position F1, advance second speed position F2, and retreat first speed position R. Then when they travel at ultra-low speed, i.e. when creep travel is made, the pressure regulating valve 46 is controlled by a controller 58. Besides, the change-over valve 40 is set to the creep position C and the wear plate of an F1 clutch 21 and its opposed plate are mutually slipped. This obtains a larger deceleration ratio than that determined by the gear ratio between the gears 14 and 15 and achieves creep travel.
